A Full Sail Scam...?

Or ... Just a Bunch of Finger Pointing Former Student Failures?

"Is there a Full Sail Scam?" It's a question we are asked everyday either in Our comments Section or through Emails to the site.

I also found complaints filed elsewhere against Full Sail University in a numerous variety of fashions. It may just be a lone few people posting the same complaints everywhere and often but they are starting to affect the reputation of Full Sail University. At least, online it is.

None of the claims I've heard could make a case in court for true fraud by Full Sail and most were from angry students who were yet to get work and who claimed to have been 'Promised a Dream Job by Full Sail in my Field of study'.

My father and I have a ton of research on Full Sail University. If you have done more than us then please help where you can. Everyone would appreciate it.

I have been contacted by hundeds of people about a Scam at Full Sail. Most had no idea what to expect but hard work was not one of them. We know enough to say that there is no scam going on at Full Sail University. At least not according to the Law or the Contracts they sign with their students.

For-Profit Schools conduct business with investors and a bottom line. Those 2 things take precedence over any 'desire to see you succeed'.

My dad and I wrangled with this for a very long time. We decided that this website was going to devote itself to helping people who are going to go to Film school and want information about the teachers and tuition.

Not about if the school fattened their work program numbers. Telling them about nefarious business practices helps them not one bit.

Please stop posting conspiracy theories here that may or may not be true. You help no one trying to follow their dreams. Don't break people's dreams because that is all they have and people DO make it as Film Makers every day!

Why is it that some do so well? Amid others that get angered at the system and write into this website about how politics are affecting them.

Bull. Just get to it. If you have information about a scam at Full Sail University, then I dare you to post it.

There. We can relax now and finish. I challenge anyone to prove that students are not getting an education at Full Sail. I will have a retort of success for every one you have with failure. So stop.

We are here to help the students that are considering attending Full Sail University. Here are what benefits and drawbacks the school may have.

This is called a Full Sail scam page. It was written because we don't believe they either deserve such a harsh moniker nor do they practice anything that your cell phone provider does not.

For-profit schools are the future and they provide a service. They will not survive without a product that works most of the time. I never said all of the time. If a school is practicing anything that will affect a student, I will post it a thousand times.

But ... Is it True?

I'll try not to tell you what I think. Below are all the questions being asked. I'll address them by pointing you or providing you the claims from both sides.

Some interesting accusations have been made about Full Sail University. They include rumors of an active and current Class Action Law Suit against Full Sail University. Former students are claiming that they were mislead and want their money back.

I have looked in every appropriate space for information about a class action lawsuit against certain entities and I could not find one directly against Full Sail University.

I did find information about a class action lawsuit currently in process against an entity quite near to Full Sail University.

When people refer to the class action lawsuit against Full Sail University, they may be confusing it with the class action law suit currently filed against Fannie Mae, who is a main provider of Student Loans to Full Sail University students as well as other schools.

I can tell you that Full Sail University has no ongoing active legal battles rattling the seats of the Supreme Court. The School has some interesting conflicts going on with passionately disgruntled students and former employees, but there is no Full Sail Scam.

Any Merit to Claims that Full Sail Ripped Off Students and Former Employees?

This school is famous. The people that run the school treat it like a business (which it is) and Full Sail University has been around for a long time. Negative posts and claims of a Full Sail scam accumulate over time because people who are satisfied with their education don't make long posts on internet sites about it.

Unless they want to defend their school from an unfair review.

You can make comments or Tell Us If You Think Full Sail University Is a Scam. People with positive or Negative comments about the school should tell us what happened and how it happened.

Anyone with positive comments about the school can also use the same text box at the bottom of this page. You can even reply to other comments and rate them out of 5 stars!

Please remember that I can only publish comments that are constructive and free of course language (Sorry. Women and kids might read this stuff).

Possible Reasons for all the Anger

.

Full Sail University has been 'exaggerating' some of its numbers. I mean the number of Graduates who "Find Employment Related to their field of study". A job making photocopies at Staples can be called 'Related" to "Media" but I can guarantee you that those graduates didn't have these kind of jobs in mind as a career path when they signed up.

It's not a lie but it's really lame.

You see, it looks good if a school has a high number of its graduates finding work. I also use these numbers as part of a method for deciding how good a school really is.

I just never use the actual school as a source for accurate self-evaluation. They are just a company trying to sell you a product. If it is a goood product then I have no problem with the school itself.

The problem is that Full Sail can legally count almost any graduate as a "working graduate". Working in a Blockbuster movie rental shop really is related to "Media".

Graduates of Full Sail who could not find work in the film industry after graduating now blame Full Sail University for their woes. I've heard them utter the 'Full Sail Scam' label.

A lot of people feel that after paying $70,000USD, they are 'entitled' to a job in the industry of their choice. The problem is that you have to fight to get work no matter where you graduated from.

The school puts its best foot forward during the Campus Tours for prospective students because it wants to make money. There is nothing legally wrong with counting graduates working in Starbucks as "Gainfully employed Graduates" so it can't even be called lying. Especially now that you know the truth.

Do you blame them? I guess that some do and that's where the Full Sail Scam rumors come from.

The schedule may be a bit over the top (Labs at 3am) and they may exaggerate some claims but to lay the entire blame on this school is just giving up.

Some people say the School's Accreditation sparked the Full Sail scam rumors?

Full sail University is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges at this page of their site.

The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges has not been recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) but is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).

See the List of Recognized Accrediting Organizations (as of September 2012).

Full Sail University is Nationally accredited institution. This allows attending students to secure government approved loans to pay for their education. I doubt a full blown Full Sail Scam ould be in opeeration with National Accreditation at stake.

If you plan on attending college after Full Sail then you will encounter many schools that will not accept credits issues by Full Sail because of their Regional accreditation.

It is up to the school you are applying to in the end. They can accept all Full Sail University credits if they want but many schools only accept credits from institutions accredited by the same body as their own.

That's usually the U.S. department of Education.

Can you imagine paying out all that money only to find out that most traditional colleges and Universities refuse to accept credits you spent the last year and all your savings accumulating?

I can't believe that people would not check these things out before attending ANY University. I can understand the anger but you have to look out for yourself and the only way to do that is to do your research before forking over $45,000 to ANY School.

Full Sail is Accredited and there is no Full Sail Scam. If you are having problems transferring your credits then download this little booklet called How to Transfer Credits or Degrees (It's Free).

The headline of the booklet reads "Don't Take No for an Answer". It's a very informative booklet on what action you can take to force the schools you are applying to accept credit transfers from your previous school or institution.

In conclusion

there is no Full Sail Scam. They will put on one hell of a flash and awe show for you if you join a campus tour. They might even bring out Grandma's best Silverware if you are uncooperative in signing that $70,000USD student loan.

Do your research and none of it will fool you. This is a good school and there is no Full Sail Scam. When I contacted some current Students at Full Sail they confirmed that

"There is no Full Sail Scam. I get to work with all the very best video editing tools out there and handle gear on a daily basis that other schools can only dream of owning. My only complaint is the lack of female students."

Here are 2 final quotes I came across that are good representations of both viewpoints. It may give a better perspective. Which author do you think is currently working in the film industry?

"Full Sail only cares only about your money. With that in mind, they will use heavy duty psychology brainwashing techniques to make you feel like you are number one and all the hard work you put in will land you a position wherever you want. They'll also tell you that their degrees are recognized prestigiously almost anywhere in the world."

And The Other...

"There's an old saying that "The Cream Rises to The Top". I have a feeling the people that do well at Full Sail are people that will do well anywhere. They are driven and focused. So far it seems that the people that attend Full Sail are satisfied with the classes and teachers."

One thing we can lay to rest. The Full Sail Scam is a Myth. It doesn't exist.

They may employ every sales trick in the book but you'll get a pretty good education for it. There's no doubt that full sail university allow its students access to one of the finest inventories of film making equipment perhaps anywhere.

Are They Running a Scam at Full Sail University?

So what of all this talk about a full sail scam? Is there any truth to it. If you have something to say now is your chance.
